The weather bureau has been a longstanding partner of the Center in producing and disseminating local climate information. This includes the annual report, State of the Philippine Climate, which summarizes the country’s climate observations and climate-related disasters.

The five-year partnership involves utilizing climate information to empower users with the necessary tools to cope with current climate variabilities and adapt to future changes. It also includes analysis of local trends and projections, documenting successful local practices and innovations, developing participatory research techniques, and publishing information materials.

Dr. Esperanza O. Cayanan, Deputy Administrator for Research and Development; Rosalina de Guzman, Climate Data Section Chief, and outgoing Senior Advisor; Dr. Joseph Basconcillo, Weather Specialist II; and Vicki Ann Bagulbagul, Senior Research Specialist were also present during the MOA signing for PAGASA. Alfi Lorenz Cura, Knowledge Production Assistant Manager also attended for OML Center.

The MOA signing was held last May 22, 2023, at the PAGASA Science Garden in Diliman, Quezon City.
