Overview
Serves as a resourceful complement to tasks, expertise, knowledge and skills, and to the over-all role of directorship, providing programmatic support to the Executive Director in strategic planning, policy making, and organizational effectiveness
Responsibilities
- Stand-in for the Executive Director in his absence
- Oversee and coordinate the Center affairs of the day
- Provide support to staff, issuing technical, or other advice for compliance of work programs and policies
- Coordinate the Center’s programs, helping to identify and recommend policies, systems, and processes
- Lead, manage, or operationalize committees and task forces to ensure accomplishment of goals
- Elicit or solicit input to sustain or improve organizational management
- Assist the Executive Director in the operationalization and implementation of the Center’s strategic and operational plans
- Based on direction and vision communicated by the leadership, translate vision into operational roadmaps
- Promote buy-in of teams and staff
- Support the execution of plans according to the overall direction and vision
Qualifications
- At least a master’s degree on environmental sciences, natural resources management, social sciences, economics, policy studies, or related fields
- Research experience on climate change and/or DRRM
- Management experience in a research organization and/or an NGO will be an advantage
- Highly proficient in oral and written communication
- Proven ability to work with partners
