Work Program 1A Manager

Contribute to strategy, policy, and procedure by serving as the Consultant for overall project management, technical support, and administration of Project SIGND's Work Program 1A.


The OML Center is currently looking for a Work Program (WP) 1A Manager for Project SIGND.

Project SIGND (Climate Resilience of the Deaf: Signs for Inclusive Governance and Development) aims to increase the preparedness and adaptive capacities of the Deaf to climate-related risks and disasters by increasing access to and participation in hearing-led programs on climate action and disaster risk reduction and management while strengthening policies and capacitating key policymakers, implementors, Deaf advocates and Hearing champions towards more inclusive governance and resilience building.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. In close coordination with the Center’s representative and the Project Lead, contribute to strategy, policy, and procedure by serving as the Consultant for overall project management, technical support, and administration of WP1A.

    a. Develop, manage, and implement the approved WP1A work plan, budget, and schedule in line with the overall objectives of the project.

    b. Ensure that team outputs and deliverables are in line with the project plan, and if necessary or called for by new developments, propose alternative paths/directions where deliverables may be changed, enhanced, or combined with other outputs, etc., with the concurrence of the Project Team and/or key decision-makers.

    c. Develop and implement systems, policies, and procedures to ensure smooth implementation.

    d. Evaluate potential problems and technical hitches and develop solutions

    e. Identify project team members, manage and/or supervise technical working and support groups, and coordinate with third-party suppliers and/or service providers and other project members or contributors for smooth coordination and communication.

    f. Ensure efficient and timely management of project-related paperwork, documentation, materials, correspondence, and documentation, including the preparation and review of reports, letters, minutes, etc.

  2. Oversee the activities across WP1A of the project, such as but not limited to:

    a. Literature review, desk research, and related activities.

    b. Stakeholder consultation and engagement (key informant interviews (KIIs), individual/sector meetings and/or trainings and workshops) through employment of agreed upon project methodology and standardized application

    c. Data collection and analysis and production of technical reports, synthesis, recommendations, and other documentary requirements

  3. Monitor submission of and evaluate WP1A outputs to ensure relevance, efficiency, and

    a. Define project baselines and check/track project progress and performance

    b. Ensure timely reports in compliance with funding requirements and deadlines

  4. Attend weekly team and other meetings and other relevant project events and activities punctually without having to be followed up.

  5. Manage and monitor WP1A budget.
