The UNDP Equator Initiative in New York has recently launched its global call for the Equator Prize 2015 that will honour 20 outstanding local and indigenous community initiatives that are reducing poverty, protecting nature, and strengthening resilience in the face of climate change.
As an entity striving for a resilient and prosperous Filipino society, the OML Center supports the nomination of eligible groups and interested organizatons in the Philippines with initiatives that are in line with the theme of the cycle of the award: empowerment, rights, and partnerships for local climate action and an emphasis on indigenous peoples and local communities that are:
Each winning initiative will receive US$ 10,000 and be supported to participate in a series of special events at the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris, France in December 2015.
