Dr. Lasco points out that science has yet to discern a direct correlation between global warming and El Niño, but this does not diminish the reality of climate change. If anything, this calls for the advancement of climate science in the Philippines, he says, since there is a need to investigate further into how climate change affects the various phenomena that pervade the country.
