Two research assistants from the OML Center volunteered in the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI)’s “Teacher-for-a-Day” event held last November 11, 2014.
The “Teacher-for-a-Day” is an initiative of the KCFI as part of its 15th year anniversary celebration. It aims to gather employee-volunteers from the Lopez Group of Companies to inculcate the practice of disaster preparedness to students from disaster-prone public schools along the Pasig River. The activities facilitated were based on the KCFI’s Module on Disaster Preparedness Life Skills called 4K: Kaalaman (Knowledge), Kahandaan (Preparedness), Kakayahan (Skills), Katatagan (Resiliency).
The OML Center volunteers, along with other volunteers from Benpres Insurance Agency, were assigned to teach Grade 5 and 6 students from Guadalupe Viejo Elementary School, Makati City. They facilitated activities related to disaster preparedness.
