The Oscar M. Lopez (OML) Center will host a public lecture on climate and disaster resilience entitled, “Empowering Climate and Disaster Resilience: Innovative Science-Based Solutions for Sustainable Development and Societal Adaptation in the Philippines.” The public lecture will take place on March 28, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 NN at the Roof Deck, Henry Sy Sr. Hall, De La Salle University, Taft Avenue, Manila.

Bringing together experts, policymakers, and sustainability advocates, this public lecture, organized under the OML Center’s Society and Development Program, aims to shed light on the latest science-driven strategies for climate adaptation and disaster resilience in the country.

Among the highlights of the public lecture is the keynote presentation by OML Center’s Society & Development Fellow, Dr. Krista Danielle Yu, to be followed by a panel discussion with distinguished experts: Dr. Mahar Lagmay of UP Resilience Institute, Mr. Paulo Gooco of the Energy Development Corporation, Mr. Manuel Aquino of the House of Representatives, and Dr. Joseph Basconcillo of PAGASA. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Alvin Culaba of the De La Salle University.
