The OML Center, in partnership with the University of the Philippines (UP); the UP- Department of Science and Technology Disaster Risk and Exposure Assessment for Mitigation (DOST-DREAM) Program; Lopez Group Foundation, Incorporated (LGFI); and the Junior Philippine Geographical Society – UP Diliman (JPGS – UPD), will hold its first Professorial Chair Lecture entitled “Science and Innovation for a Climate-Ready Philippines” on 24 September 2014 from 1:00 to 5:00pm at the National Engineering Center AVR, UP Diliman, Quezon City.
The event will showcase the studies of OML Center’s Professorial Chair Awardees on the application of science and technology in making the Philippines ready for climate-related phenomena. The awardees are Dr. Enrico Paringit, who will introduce LiDAR technology to help address the impacts of flooding in the agriculture sector, and Dr. Carlos Primo David, who will discuss the state of water resources of the Philippines.
