The need for local actionable information on climate change is rapidly increasing.

A few initiatives have been done in the country to provide climate scenarios and projections at the national, provincial and local scales. Different downscaling tools and methodologies have been applied. Climate scenarios for the future and their potential impacts for crop production and land use have been generated. However, there has been little effort to get these results across and make it useful to the Filipino community

To address this gap, The OML Center and PAGASA have ventured into a collaborative project entitled: “Climate Change Projections for the Philippines” which aims to build the resilience of the Filipino people under current and future climate through accessible, localized and accurate climate change scenarios and projections. One of the main outputs is a portal wherein information on climate change and disaster risk management at the local level can be easily accessible to users such as LGUs, NGOs, researchers and other government agencies.
