Project-Based Marketing Specialist (OML Resilience Awards)

Responsible for developing plans and ensuring the efficient execution of integrated marketing campaigns to establish and promote the OML Resilience Awards

Short Description

The Marketing Specialist will develop plans and ensure the efficient execution of integrated marketing campaigns to establish and promote the OML Resilience Awards, towards generating nominations to the Awards. This includes serving as point-person for developing, implementing and executing marketing initiatives and activities for the Awards, and working closely with the Communications Manager in ensuring brand integrity across multiple channels and functions, and with the Partnerships Manager in ensuring alignment and support in accomplishing the objectives of the Awards.

This position is a project-based part-time job with a duration of 1 year.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement a strategic marketing program to engage meaningful support for the Awards, particularly in generating nominations/applications
  2. Conduct research to identify opportunities for promotion and engagement
  3. Plan, launch and deliver relevant and innovative content marketing, promotional, and distribution strategies
  4. With support, create and prepare content for the publication of marketing materials, including presentations, and oversee distribution
  5. Source promotional opportunities and placement, including cross-promotion among the OML Center’s partners
  6. Work closely with in-house or external agencies to effectively manage events, press relationships, editorial requests, presentations, promotional materials and online activities
  7. Collaborate with managers in preparing budgets and monitoring expenses
  8. Track marketing performance and prepare regular reports for management
  9. Manage and update the OML Resilience Awards web page
  10. Maintain and update vendor, placement, and target databases
  11. Other administrative tasks related to the OML Resilience Awards 


  • Bachelor’s degree in any related field, but preferably advertising, marketing, business management, or communications
  • One to two years experience in brand or events marketing or management
  • Awareness of digital media techniques preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Copywriting and design skills an advantage
  • Good analytical skills to evaluate campaigns
  • Attention to detail
  • Proactive and able to use own initiative when appropriate
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
