The OML Center joined the a round-table discussion on NOT Business as Usual: Science, Community and Practitioners’ Conversations on Yolanda’s Risks and Reconstruction Directions in Light of Climate Change organized by the Manila Observatory, the Department of Sociology and Anthropology of the Ateneo de Manila University, Aksyon Klima, in partnership with Christian Aid. The event was held at the Ateneo de Manila University last 28 January 2014.
The round-table served as a platform for knowledge sharing and dialogue between scientists and other stakeholders involved in the post-Yolanda rehabilitation, recovery and reconstruction efforts in Yolanda-hit areas. Humanitarian organizations, implementing agencies, local government institutions, civil society organizations, private sector, academic and research institutions and even individuals involved in these efforts were invited in this forum.
Speakers included Atty. Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga (Manila Observatory), Dr. Rosa Perez (Manila Observatory and Asian Development Bank), Dr. Gemma Narisma (Manila Observatory and Ateneo de Manila University), Dr. Cesar Villanoy (University of the Philippines), Dr. Emma Porio (Ateneo de Manila University) and Mr. Paulo Alcazaren (PDAA Singapore and Editor-in-Chief, BluPrint Magazine).
