Executive Summary

This research was conducted to develop local DSSAT-CERES Maize and CERES-Rice models that will be used for climate change assessments and designing of decision support system for rainfed farmers in Isabela. The main output was an estimation of genetic coefficients for corn and rice–sets of parameters that define the crop growth characteristics that are inherent and specific to the crop’s genes. Calibration and validation results showed that these genetic coefficients accurately predicted the observed biomass, phenological stages and yield of corn and rice.
